Everything the library does, in one place.
Borrowing is only the start. Computers, WiFi that reaches the parking lot, a meeting room your group can book, museum passes, story times and a printer that takes quarters — here is the full list.
Books, and a good deal more than books
One card gets you the whole Chester County Library System — nineteen libraries’ worth of material, delivered to our front desk in Spring City.
Print collection
New fiction and nonfiction, large print, DVDs, magazines and newspapers, plus a children’s and teen room. If we don’t own it, we’ll request it from another CCLS branch for free.
Search the catalog →eBooks & audiobooks
Thousands of titles through Libby, free with your card, on any phone or tablet. Borrow at 2am in your pajamas; nothing is ever overdue because it returns itself.
Start with Libby →Magazines & news
Full glossy editions of hundreds of popular magazines through Flipster, plus newspapers and news databases — readable on your device, no waiting list.
Browse magazines →Museum passes
Reserve a free or discounted family pass to regional museums and attractions with your library card. Passes go quickly — book ahead through the CCLS system.
Reserve a pass →Holds & 24/7 pickup
Place a hold from home and pick it up whenever suits you — at the desk, curbside, or from the book locker outside, which never closes.
Place a hold →What can I read next?
Tell a librarian three books you loved and we’ll hand you a fourth. It is the single most under-used free service in this building, and we are very good at it.
Ask a librarian →Computers, WiFi and the copier
Three public computers, a self-serve print station, and wireless that reaches the porch and the parking lot around the clock.
Public computers
We have three public computers inside the library, all connected to the self-serve printer. Sign in with your library card number, or ask at the circulation desk for a guest pass — you do not need to be a cardholder to use one.
WiFi, day and night
Our wireless network is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on your own device. It reaches inside the building, out onto the front porch and across the parking lot, so it works even when we’re closed.
Print, copy, scan and fax
The self-serve multi-use machine sits next to the public computers. It takes coins and small bills. We can’t make change for anything larger than a $1 bill, it does not accept credit cards, and we don’t offer mobile printing yet.

A room your town can actually book
The meeting room is a multi-purpose space for patrons and the wider community. It hosts board and staff meetings, the Women’s Library Club, baby and children’s weekly story times, the bi-monthly D&D group for teens, the adult book group, the monthly teen activity program and other library programs.
When the library isn’t using it, the room is open for tutoring, meetings and other community needs. It has a smart TV, four flip-top tables and 24 padded chairs.
Reserving it
- Community and non-profit use — no charge, subject to availability.
- For-profit organizations — $25.00 per hour, on a limited basis. The room may not be used as a business office or to sell products.
- Tutors — $10.00 per hour. Volunteer tutors are free. If the room happens to be open when you walk in, there’s no fee; calling ahead about availability counts as a reservation.
The library reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any reservation because of unforeseen circumstances, or if the space is needed for a library program or meeting.

Something happening most days of the week
Nearly everything below is free and needs no sign-up. Dates and times live on the CCLS calendar, which we keep current.
Story times
Weekly baby and children’s story times in the meeting room — songs, rhymes, a picture book and a craft. Drop in; no registration.
Teen D&D and teen night
A bi-monthly Dungeons & Dragons group and a monthly teen activity program. Dice, snacks and a table that is theirs alone.
Adult book group
One title a month, one evening a month, and no obligation to have finished it. Copies are set aside at the desk ahead of each meeting.
Women’s Library Club
One of the oldest groups in the building and a large part of why the library is still standing. New members are genuinely welcome.
Summer reading
Our biggest program of the year, for kids, teens and adults, with prizes, performers and a leaderboard that gets competitive.
